Bob’s Plan

To Improve Safety:

Improving safety in our neighbourhoods and downtown is crucial. I have championed support for the Regina Police Service, our fire service, and other first responders. To enhance community policing, 32 new uniformed officers are being added, joined by new Alternate Response Officers to patrol downtown. I look forward to hosting the RPS at a community meeting to discuss a 'community watch' program.

Community safety includes ensuring the well-being of all residents, which means addressing homelessness is equally important. Over the past year, in partnership with other levels of government, the City has invested more than $10 million into social and supportive housing with the goal of helping our most vulnerable transition to healthy, independent living.

To Maintain Affordability:

High mortgage rates and food prices are straining household finances. The city budget must keep property tax and utility rates down while focusing on essential services such as road and sidewalk repair, community safety, snow clearing, public transit, recreation programs, and parks. To fund the critical capital projects that will shape our future, partnering with other levels of government and the private sector is essential to make strategic investments without overburdening taxpayers.

To Support Families:

We must provide recreation facilities that keep our young people active and engaged, preparing them for the demands of the 21st century. Replacing the end-of-life central library and Lawson pool is necessary to accommodate our growing population's needs for quality programming. We must also drive economic growth by fostering business and attracting investment, ensuring Regina's young adults can build their futures here.

To Champion Seniors:

As a senior, I know how important it is to honour the contributions that older adults have made in building our community. We must provide them with meaningful opportunities to remain mentally and physically active. Our last Council unanimously adopted the "Age Friendly Regina" policy, and I am fully committed to implementing this in all our decision-making.
